Medialization of the Youth
Speaker:Fr. Christian Buenafe, O'Cram
As Media Innovates

Media is a channel through which the message is transmitted. It delivers information in the form of news, commentary, advertising, and also in the guise of entertainment. There are 6 forms of media, namely:print, broadcast, electronic, group/visual media, folk/traditional media, non-media communication.

Mass media communication is more than large, complex, specialized it represents a significant factor in the national economy. The production, distribution, and presentation of radio, over the air and cable television, motion pictures, news paper, books, recorded music and magazines require great expense and frequently generate enormous profits.

Internet

Face to face conversation between individuals is the simplest, most effective means of communication. When messages must be delivered to large number of people, however, such personal intercourse is obviously impossible. Transmission of ideas and information must be delivered by use of mass communication techniques. The internet provides an abundance of resources for writers and editors, researches to use in creating and checking their print and broadcast reports. The rapid expanding text and graphics services that offers informational and commercial messages.

We cannot deny the fact that all of us are dependent to the so called technology. Technology is very powerful, like videotape. It multiply our ability to capture, preserve, and display moving visual images, and it can be erased and reused Selling videotape of motion pictures has become a major source of income for the film industry. On the other hand, like small portable video cameras enable television news to record events and put the material on TV viewers' home screen quickly.

Humanity challenge is how to use these spectacular communication tools in the most imaginative, effective, and socially responsible manner.

"Hapag ng Pag-asa"

There's an intricate connection between eating and love. Families reunite around a table loaded with mama's home cooked dishes. The question is "why do food and love go together?" Pretty simple love is our real food. But it contradicts to the painting "Hapag ng Pag-asa". It interpret the revolting scene of a young children eating people's trash. We cannot deny the fact that our economy is getting worst, and most victims are the innocent whom JESUS truly love. Meals with Him should be romantic, there are candles, soft music, and lots of gazing at each other. But what happened, the child under the table in which we can see in the painting who rummaging the trash bins of his neighborhood in order to eat. Instead of going to school or play like other children do. How then can we help address the problem of the nation without relying solely on the government? Let's start with ourselves, i believe that the changes must come from within, daring to make difference is one way of striving to success. Find ways of cooperating with small communities to tweak the way things on. If we help ourselves become better Filipino, we will help ourselves become a part of a romantic meal with JESUS.
